The beer bottle collection started many years ago. As time went by, the collection multiplied to over a hundred empty bottles which were parked on a shelf in the garage. When we moved last time the collection almost got ditched. Since something like this can always be given away, procrastination settled in and I kept those bottles. Now there are somewhere around 1067 bottles and cans.

It took a couple months one cold winter back in 1998 to photograph each bottle and write a program to make the web page with a picture of each bottle and can. Well, here it is! The project isn't quite complete because I'm shooting for 1000+ bottles.

The perl program used to write the web page started out quite simple but became slightly more complicated with addition of the various sorting functions. The Beer database is a text file with coded information for the fields. I recently updated the program and database to allow more then 999 bottles and cans!
